dedicated to:

Lucille Ball and Sylvia Joy Warner

The Comedy-Code™ was developed in honor and in memory of Lucille Ball and Sylvia Joy Warner.   Both women lived by its code and left a legacy of laughter, learning and love. One helped the whole world experience it.  The other helped her world experience it.

When asked by TV Guide about the enduring power of the I Love Lucy show, Lucie Arnaz said, "It’s the best medicine ever. My mom made a tonic that never had to be renewed. The date on it never expires. You can always drink it and feel better."  I feel the same about my own mom, Sylvia Joy Warner, who lived her middle name.

I hope many of us think of people in our lives who make the same kind of tonic. It is the best medicine ever. The moms, dads, kids, managers, supervisors, community leaders, friends, and comedy legends who live and lead by The Comedy-Code make our world better because of it.  Helping others laugh, smile and experience joy.  Helping them learn by their example, instruction, and encouragement.  Helping them to deepen their love for important relationships and their work/life experience.

Ironically my mom passed away on Lucille Ball's birthday, August 6, 2009.  Each year, I dedicate my volunteer service at the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival to her and the joy she continues to bring to my life as I remember her.  And I do my best to pass our joy on to others.

Laugh. Learn. Love. Pass it on.  That's the power of The Comedy-Code.
